We know we’re getting closer to the end of the 2022–2023 season. How many more new episodes do we have of our favorite shows? Is a new episode of SWAT on tonight, Friday, April 28?

We know that we’re getting closer and closer to the end of the current season. When it comes to SWAT, we know that we could be coming to the series finale. Financial negotiations don’t seem to be going the way that we’d like.

I guess it should be some good news then that there isn’t a new episode of the series on tonight, Friday, April 28. The show is taking another week off, and there is a rerun of “Thai Harder” on instead.

When will new episodes of SWAT return to CBS?

The series is only taking one week off. There will be a new episode on Friday, May 5. At the time of writing this, we don’t have details of the episode. That’s not surprising with the fact that the show has taken some time off. We sometimes have to wait until the week before the episode to see a promo.

There are just three episodes of the season left. The finale is going to be split in two parts, airing on Friday, May 12 and Friday, May 19.

This could be the final season. CBS is still in negotiations with Sony. Finances are what’s causing the hold-up, and it looks to be the licensing fee with Sony. Broadcast networks are looking for ways to save money due to declining linear ratings. Despite SWAT gaining viewers in the move to Fridays, the show still isn’t performing as well as the likes of FBI and The Equalizer.
