Jessie just wanted to know who her father was in Accused Season 1, Episode 14. What did she end up on trial for, and what happened in the end?

The promo for Accused Season 1, Episode 14 made it clear that Jessie wanted to know who her biological father was. Her mother told her Jessie’s father was an anonymous sperm donor, but it turned out that Kara was lying. She’d had an affair with her best friend’s husband and ended up pregnant.

That didn’t come out until later in the episode, though. That came out after Jessie found herself on trial. In the promo, it looked like she was ready to do some damage to the sperm bank, but is that what really happened?

What did Jessie do in Accused Season 1, Episode 14?

Jessie did end up breaking into the sperm bank with a boy who turned out to be her half-brother, Will. She was going to destroy some sperm, but in the end, Will stopped her. He reminded her that some people would freeze their sperm (and eggs) due to cancer with the hope of pregnancy afterward. Jessie couldn’t destroy innocent sperm just because she was angry with lies that had been told to her.

However, Will and Jessie breaking into the sperm bank triggered an alarm. That led to Jessie being caught. In the end, Kara told Jessie’s biological father the truth. You see, he had no idea who Jessie was to him either. Jessie’s father (and Will’s father) was able to help craft a story so that Jessie seemed like a curious child with OCD.

Jessie decided not to go with that story, though. Instead, she came clean. The judge, who was known for being harsh, decided that she was going to reward Jessie for her honesty. It came with community service. In a way, the punishment does fit the crime for this.

The ending wasn’t something I overly liked when it came to the family, though. Andrea found out about her husband’s affair. She was originally going to leave him, but as a therapist, she believed there was a chance they could make things work. That’s something she wants for her patients, and it’s something she chose for herself. Kara was welcomed over with Jessie, and the two families became one blended family.

It just seemed a little too perfect at the end, but that’s coming from someone who would not stand by a husband who had an affair under no circumstances at all. I really wish that TV shows would stop focusing on reconciliation as a possibility. More marriages end in separation and divorce after infidelity, and it’s time for TV shows to show that’s okay to happen instead of forcing the reconciliation narrative.
