The Rookie: Feds is not back with new episodes in May 2023
The Rookie: Feds is now going on a break. This could be the end of the series. Here’s what we know about the future of the Neicy Nash-Betts series.
We’re going the rest of May without any new episodes of The Rookie: Feds. In fact, we won’t get a new episode for some time now. The previous episode was the Season 1 finale.
As of writing this, we don’t even know if ABC will pick up the series for a second season. ABC has been slow on renewals this year, bringing us one renewal at a time. Both The Rookie and Will Trent were renewed from the Tuesday block, but the Neicy Nash-Betts series has been in limbo the whole time. And now we’re getting worried.
Will The Rookie: Feds Season 2 happen?
It’s not really a “when will The Rookie: Feds return with new episodes.” We’re now looking at whether the second season is going to happen or not. Things aren’t all that clear, and some of the news is going to depend on whether this writer’s strike happens or not. The writer’s strike could cause delays in negotiations as a lot of unions are working together in support of the writers.
Even if ABC is in negotiation stage, it may need to put talks on hold for the second season. If negotiations ended, there may be the ability to announce the news, but again, it’s going to depend on the terms of the strike.
If The Rookie: Feds does get renewed, it’s unclear where it could sit in the schedule. It would likely remain a fall show, but then it will all depend on the writer’s strike and when ABC could get the new episodes. It just isn’t that easy to tell this year, and we could see a lot of shows that normally air in the fall get pushed to the midseason.
The Rookie: Feds is available to stream on Hulu.
