We’re all caught up with the freshman Rookie spin-off, The Rookie: Feds. Now we want more episodes, but will there be a new one tonight, Tuesday, May 9?
While the previous episode of The Rookie: Feds ended up a little anticlimactic, it was fun to see Simone excited to celebrate her 49th birthday. She shared that she was excited because her mom didn’t make it to 49. This was a huge milestone for her.
In the end, the case just didn’t hold up to what the promo shared it would offer. Will this week make up for that? There is some bad news. There isn’t going to be a new episode of the series tonight, Tuesday, May 9. In fact, there isn’t going to be a new episode for a while.
You see, the previous episode was the Season 1 finale. Now we have a wait on our hands.
When will The Rookie: Feds return with new episodes?
There is a chance that this is the end of the series. While ABC renewed The Rookie and Will Trent, this Tuesday night drama has been left out in the cold. It’s not clear why, although the ratings may not quite be what the network hoped for with such a star-studded cast.
So, without a renewal, we can’t even say when the show could return. It may not return at all.
If the series is renewed, we’re going to be waiting for it. The WGA writers strike is likely to go on for a few weeks, and that will mean all writing, filming, and post-production is pushed behind. I doubt we’ll get a normal fall schedule in 2023. It’s likely to be filled with unscripted shows, acquisitions, and streaming shows getting a linear outing. Very similar to the pandemic seasons.
The Rookie: Feds is available to stream on Hulu.
