What is Class of ‘09 about?
As the title implies, the series focuses on a class of FBI recruits training together in 2009. It then bounces around from the present of 2023, as they reunite following the death of a classmate and see what went wrong between them, to 2034, when the United States has embraced using artificial intelligence for crime-solving.
The series looks to tackle the questions of using human operatives alongside computer work and the indications the future has become a safer but also darker place to live. It also focuses on how the recruits change over time and the mysteries of what happened between them.
Who stars in Class of ‘09?
Henry plays Tayo Michaels, a former insurance executive hoping to change things. The future segments show he’s become the director of the FBI. Mara plays Ashley Poet, a former psychiatric nurse at a prison who joins and, by the future, is known as the best undercover operative the FBI has ever had.
Their fellow recruits include Hour Nazari (Sepidah Moafi), a socially awkward but brilliant tech genius, and Brian J. Smith as Daniel Lennix, a scion of a political family who has some secrets.
