We get a little more of Jane’s past in NCIS: Hawaii Season 2, Episode 21. Here are all the NCIS: Hawaii spoilers you need for the episode.
Jane Tennant goes off on her own when an MI6 agent is found dead. It’s going to be up to the team to figure out where she is and how to get her out of the trouble she puts herself in. When are these characters going to learn that they work much better as a team?
One thing that annoys me about these types of storylines is that it shows team members that they aren’t trusted. It would be much better for the one going off on their own to at least leave a message if they really need to go ahead before relaying all the information. Keep the team in the loop as soon as possible to show that you do trust them!

NCIS: Hawaii spoilers: 2×21 synopsis
The synopsis tells us a little more. This episode will reveal a little more about Jane’s past, something that we know little about. Up to this point, the show has mostly focused on her present as a mom and her relationship with her children’s father. It doesn’t go into who she was before becoming the team leader.
Well, the past has something to do with the dead MI6 agent in the episode. She tracks down the person responsible for the murder alone instead of turning to her team.
"The discovery of a dead former MI6 agent uncovers secrets from Tennant’s (Vanessa Lachey) past, forcing her to go to extreme lengths to track down the responsible party."
NCIS: Hawaii airs Mondays at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
