Does CSI: Vegas Season 3 premiere this fall on CBS?
CBS has unveiled its schedule for the 2023-24 TV season, and CSI: Vegas is on the move! Find out what night the series will air and when it will premiere its third season.
It’s forgotten that CSI was never expected to be a hit. When it premiered in 2000 on Fridays, it was the lead-in to the would-be hit The Fugitive. Instead, CSI became a smash to be moved to Thursdays, where it dominated in the ratings for years. Season 12 saw it moved to Wednesdays, while the 15th and final season aired on Sundays.
CSI: Vegas premiered on Wednesdays on CBS for its first season, while Season 2 had moved to Thursdays at 10/9c. The series has never really been big in the live ratings, but performs well in delayed ratings to help it score renewals. However, it’s going to mean a change for when the series airs.
When does CSI: Vegas Season 3 air on CBS?
CSI: Vegas will be moving from its Thursday time slot. That will now be occupied by Elsbeth, a spin-off of The Good Wife starring Carrie Preston.
CSI: Vegas will now air Sundays at 10/9c. However, a question is when it will premiere. First, all CBS productions are now in flux due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. That could delay production of Season 3.
Another issue is that CBS is dedicated to airing NFL football on Sundays, with games likely going over the planned time. This is likely why CSI: Vegas is currently being set for midseason but again, no word on whether it will be January 2024 or later in the year.
At least fans know the series is coming back for Season 3 and while it’ll be a wait to see it, it’s likely worth it.
