Chicago PD Season 11 will not premiere on NBC in May 2023
The good news is Chicago PD Season 11 is officially happening. The bad news is we have a wait on our hands for the premiere episode.
We got some good news earlier this month. Chicago PD Season 11 is happening. NBC opted to renew the series along with both other One Chicago shows and the entire Law & Order franchise. Now our eyes are on when the 11th season will premiere.
It’s not on the list of shows in May 2023. We never expected that, though. NBC does not premiere new seasons of big shows this time of the year. The summer is when the live ratings really take a hit, so we knew we were going to be waiting until the fall. The question now is when in the fall.
Will Chicago PD Season 11 premiere in fall 2023?
NBC has released the fall schedule, and Chicago PD is on the list. It will remain on Wednesdays at 10/9c, which isn’t that surprising at all. One Chicago Wednesdays are a huge hit, and why would NBC change that?
Usually, we would say that the fall will begin in September, but there are a lot of question marks over it this year. The WGA writers strike continues. Without scripts, nothing can film at all. On top of that, the SGA Union is looking at potentially striking. This could happen in July, which would put production and post-production on hold.
Everything is against the networks and the studios right now. Until the streamers get behind negotiating, very little is going to change at this point. This is set to be a long strike, and we could see that the shows are delayed until 2024. ABC is even planning on 2024 start dates for all its scripted slates, so we may start to see a change to NBC’s plans soon.
Chicago PD is available to stream on Peacock.
