Is Adam Ruzek dead in Chicago PD? (Is a cast change coming?)

Like previous seasons, the Chicago PD Season 10 finale left us with a major cliffhanger. Will Ruzek pull through, or is another cast change coming?

We knew the episode was going to be a big one. Richard’s plans had been moved up, and it turned out that it was all due to a potential teachers strike. Richard wanted to bomb schools with predominantly kids of color, and he needed to make sure they were in school at the time.

After Ruzek blew his cover, Samantha was offered full immunity to turn on her father. She would then be able to get out of town with her son, Callum. However, things took a turn when Ruzek saw Callum talking to his grandfather. Richard knew something like this could happen so told Callum to call him if his mother tried to take him away.

Callum pulled out a gun and shot Ruzek in the stomach. Samantha didn’t stick around, choosing to save Callum and leave Ruzek bleeding out in the house. Fortunately, he was able to get to his phone and call Burgess.

Will Ruzek be in Chicago PD Season 11?

By the end of the episode, Ruzek had pulled through in surgery. He wasn’t completely out of the woods, though. We know from the Chicago Fire cliffhanger that there can be complications afterward. Will Ruzek make it through?

There are currently no signs that Ruzek is leaving. Patrick Flueger left no message on social media to hint that he could be leaving the series, but we have seen this before. In Chicago Fire, Otis’s life was on the line. In the next season’s key art, he was there, but then in the premiere of that season he was killed off. Could we see something similar happen in this season?

There will be plenty of fans mad if Ruzek is killed. Ruzek and Burgess finally get a chance to be happy together and then this happens. I’d prefer to see Ruzek survive and then the two of them bond even closer after the traumatic event. After all, Burgess knows what the aftermath can be like.

We have a long wait on our hands for Chicago PD Season 11 now. This is going to be one hell of a hiatus.
