Is Blue Bloods new tonight on CBS? (May 26, 2023)

If last week’s Blue Bloods episode left you wanting more, we have some disappointing news for you.

The open-ended nature of the episode in which Erin decided not to move ahead with her big for District Attorney and two former cast members returned with Nicky and Jack made their way back to the family dinner table, was designed intentionally to leave fans wanting more. This is because the episode was the show was the season 13 finale.

That’s right, last Friday night’s new episode was the season finale of CBS’s hit Friday night drama meaning that there will be no new episode coming tonight or anytime soon. While it’s not yet known whether CBS will air encores of Blue Bloods over the summer, we do know there will not be a rerun airing this evening as CBS will instead be broadcasting Star Trek Into Darkness this evening in its primetime programming block.

When is Blue Bloods coming back to CBS?

Now that season 13 of Blue Bloods has come to an end, fans are eager to know when the show will return with new episodes. Unfortunately, little is known about the show’s return at the moment due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America Strike.

CBS has announced that Blue Bloods will continue to hold down the 10 p.m. timeslot on Friday nights and it is optimistic the season will arrive in the fall. However, there is a chance the show’s return will be delayed by the strike.

Typically, CBS begins its new fall season during the final weeks of September with some shows returning at the top of October. However, if the strike delays the show’s return, there is a chance we might not see Blue Bloods return until later in the year or possibly at the beginning of 2024.
