Is a new episode of The Equalizer on tonight? (May 28, 2023)
Sunday nights are all about CBS dramas, and we start with The Equalizer. What’s going on with the schedule tonight, Sunday, May 28?
It’s time for Sunday night dramas. At least, that’s what we’re ready for. There is some bad news for The Equalizer fans, though. There is not a new episode airing tonight.
The previous episode was the Season 3 finale. Not only is there not a new episode tonight, but there isn’t a rerun either. Instead, CBS has a 60 Minutes special in the 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot instead.
When will The Equalizer return with new episodes on CBS?
The good news is we know The Equalizer Season 4 is happening. The series was renewed back in May 2022 for two seasons, so we went into this third season not worrying too much about the finale. Any cliffhanger would be resolved.
So, when is the show returning? It is set as part of the fall schedule, with it remaining as the first show on Sundays. This does mean a mixture of times depending on which network Sunday afternoon football airs.
However, there is something else affecting the return of the series. Usually, we would say this show would be back in late September or early October, but the WGA writers strike continues. The longer this goes on for, the less chance the show has of starting production in July, which is necessary for a September start. We could be looking at a long delay here.
In fact, ABC is ready for none of the shows to start production on time. It opted for a fully unscripted fall schedule with all scripted shows held until 2024. We could see that happen with other networks.
The Equalizer is available to stream on Paramount+.
