Is a new episode of FBI on CBS tonight? (May 30, 2023)

We would love to see the team back in action, but is that going to happen tonight, Tuesday, May 30? What’s going on with the FBI schedule?

We start off this post with some disappointing news. There is not a new episode of the cop drama on tonight, Tuesday, May 30. The series is now on its summer break with the previous episode being the Season 5 finale.

There is at least a rerun tonight. While the network is in its summer programming, there is nothing new airing on Tuesdays just yet. We’ll get to enjoy all three shows in the franchise throughout the night. If they’re not the episodes you want to watch, you can watch episodes of your choice on Paramount+.

There is a little bit of good news in the fact that Season 6 is going to happen. Of course, that leads to a lot of questions about when we’ll see Maggie, OA, and others return to the screen.

When will FBI Season 6 premiere on CBS?

As of right now, we don’t have a premiere date. Usually, we would say that the show would be back in September. That’s the case for fall shows in most years, and yes, this is remaining in the fall schedule with a full night of Dick Wolf drama on Tuesdays on CBS.

There is something that prevents us definitely saying September: It’s all about the WGA writers strike. With that still going on, there are no episodes to film. Even if there were, a lot of production are on hold because there aren’t writers around for any rewrites that are necessary during production.

ABC opted not to even tempt fate this year. The entire fall schedule is made up of unscripted programming with all scripted shows being held for 2024. We could see CBS and other networks need to pivot to something like this.
