Will Trent Season 2 will not premiere on ABC in June 2023

We got good news just ahead of the season finale. Will Trent Season 2 is officially happening. Now all eyes are on when the premiere will air.

We got some great news just before the Will Trent Season 1 finale aired. It would not be a series finale. ABC decided that it was happy with the show’s performance and renewed it for a second season.

While a big storyline was wrapped up in the finale, it is good news. There has been a lot of praise for the series, which is inclusive in many ways. These are the types of shows we want to see more of on TV.

Now eyes are on when the show could premiere. Would it be one of those that moves to the fall after a midseason freshman run? ABC has made a decision.

When will Will Trent Season 2 premiere on ABC?

We knew that the show wouldn’t premiere its second season in June. ABC—and other broadcast networks—bring a cheaper schedule to the summer months. The linear ratings take a dip, and there’s no way the networks would risk expensive scripted shows.

There is some bad news when it comes to the premiere date, though. We don’t have a date at this time. That’s not surprising as ABC doesn’t tend to release fall premiere dates until later in June or in July, but this is where more bad news keeps on coming.

Will Trent Season 2 is not part of the fall schedule. No scripted show is. ABC has opted for an unscripted lineup throughout fall due to the writers strike. There is no guarantee that any of the shows will be ready for a fall run, and instead of risking the schedule, ABC has pushed all scripted shows to 2024.

The earliest we’ll see Will back in action is in January 2024. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on that plan.
