Based on a True Story age rating: Is the series suitable for kids?
Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina star in Based on a True Story, coming to Peacock this week. Is this a series to watch with the kids around?
If you’re looking for something to watch right now, you’ll want to turn to Peacock. There are some great crime dramas on the streamer, with many of them offering something quirky and different. Based on a True Story is the latest release this week.
All eight episodes of the series will drop on Thursday, June 8. Yes, that’s in just two days at the time of writing this, so you’ll want to get ready for a binge-watch. That may mean watching it with the kids around, but is the series going to be suitable for them?
Based on a True Story age rating
The official age rating for the series isn’t out yet. With how other Peacock shows have been, we’re not expecting this to have a TV-MA rating. There likely won’t be much in the way of sexual content and gore.
What you may want to look out for is language. Some Peacock shows can have some harsh language, but then it’s up to you as a parent when it comes to what you allow your children to be exposed to.
The series is likely to be something along the lines of Poker Face on Peacock or Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. This means that it’s great for teenagers and up, but younger children may just not appreciate the subject of the series.
This does involve a story about a serial killer. It’s about Ava, who starts a true crime podcast to expose who she believes is the killer, and that’s sure to bring up some sensitive topics. That’s something to keep in mind when going into the series.
