Are we really that surprised that The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 was picked up quickly? While the series was initially turned down by Paramount+, Netflix saw the value in it. Of course, Michael Connelly fans were going to go straight to the series after the success of Bosch on Prime Video.
It’s been a little over a year since the first season arrived. To be honest, we weren’t really expecting a release until a little later this year, but Netflix has surprised us. The show is coming back this summer, but there is some bad news for those who want to binge-watch the episodes.

We only have to wait one more month. The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 will come out on Thursday, July 6. Yes, you need to make a note that it is dropping on a Thursday and not the usual Friday. Clearly, Netflix isn’t too worried about people not binge-watching right away.
You won’t be able to binge-watch the whole season, though. Netflix made it clear that this is another show being split in two parts. The second half of the season will drop on Thursday, Aug. 3.

Why would Netflix do this? It looks like the split seasons are becoming successful for the subscriber base—and with the decision to no longer allow people to share passwords, we know that Netflix is struggling with keeping its subscriber base. Netflix has done this with Stranger Things, You, and Manifest recently. We’re not all that surprised that it’s looking at doing it with more shows.
This could also be linked to the writers strike, although releasing the second part after just a month doesn’t make sense for that. Netflix will start to run out of content later this year due to the writers strike and production not happening. If the actors go on strike in July, things will get a lot worse. Netflix will want to space out the content that it does have to counter that issue.
