Is Based on a True Story released weekly or a binge-watch?
As broadcast TV comes to an end for another season, our attention turns to streaming platforms. Based on a True Story is coming to Peacock this week. Will it be released weekly, or is it coming out as a binge-watch?
The time has come for streaming to step up and helps us through a TV drought. The broadcast networks are taking some time off—and this could be longer than normal due to the writers strike. So, we’re turning to the likes of Peacock to keep us entertained.
The good news is Peacock has a new series arriving this week. Kaley Cuoco stars as Ava in Based on a True Story. It’s similar to Only Murders in the Building in a way, with Ava deciding to start up a true crime podcast after witnessing a murder by a serial killer.
In this one, she thinks she already knows who the murderer is. Now she needs to get him to confess when he’s invited as a guest on her podcast.
Based on a True Story release schedule
Streaming platforms aren’t all that consistent with the way they release content. Some will opt for a binge-watch, while others do a weekly release or a hybrid. In a lot of cases, Peacock has opted for the weekly release, but things are different for Based on a True Story.
The Kaley Cuoco series is coming out as a binge-watch. All eight episodes will drop at once, which means you can quickly find out if Ava got it right when it came to who the killer was in the story.
Want to make it last? You can certainly opt to watch it as you want. Just stay off social media as there will be a lot of people talking about the ending. You don’t want to be spoiled.
Based on a True Story is coming to Peacock on Thursday, June 8 in full.
