While FBI didn’t end its fifth season on a cliffhanger, it doesn’t mean we’re not interested in seeing more of the characters. Will there be a Season 6?

A lot of TV shows opted to end with cliffhangers this year. That was especially the case for the Dick Wolf shows. We’re used to the One Chicago franchise ending with cliffhangers, but FBI: International also left us wondering what was going to come next.

While the main series didn’t leave us hanging, it doesn’t mean we’re ready to say goodbye to the characters. We need to know if we’ll see Maggie, OA, and others again, especially now that Scola has become a father. Will that change the way he works and views the world?

Is FBI canceled or renewed for Season 6?

When all the renewals were being handed out, this series was one missing from the list. Does that mean it’s canceled? Actually, no. It didn’t get a mention because CBS had already renewed the show for Season 6 back in May 2022. Like all other shows in the universe and The Equalizer, the series got a two-season renewal last year.

So that means scripts have been written and production has started, right? Not quite. The writers rooms for all the Dick Wolf shows were set to return this month but that’s not happened yet. The writers are on strike, and now we’re in limbo for when the shows will return.

CBS is keeping the New York-based crime drama in the fall schedule. It will still air on Tuesdays to kick off the night, but it may not return in September. We just don’t know what’s going to happen yet, and we need to wait for the writers to go back.
