After watching three episodes of Nancy Drew Season 4, there is one thing we need. More of the Drew Crew at work. Will that happen?
There is no doubt that we are ready for more of the Drew Crew. We’re into the fourth season now, and we’ve seen the characters grow up and mature considerably. They are focusing on their futures, but they are also still focused on keeping the town of Horseshoe Bay safe from the ghosts and ghouls that come up.
Will there be more to their stories? Like the third season, there will only be 13 episodes to Nancy Drew Season 4. Are those 13 episodes the last?
Is Nancy Drew canceled?
There is some disappointing news. Nancy Drew Season 5 is not going to happen. Shortly after being renewed, The CW announced that the fourth season would be the last. The saving grace is that the writers had time to craft an ending for the characters.
Why is the show canceled? There will be a few reasons for this, but the live ratings is the biggest. The show’s linear ratings have been on a decline from the start. While The CW would absorb that in the past because the aim was to make back the money through syndication, a change in ownership has led to a change in plans financially.
The aim now is to make the network profitable on its own. That means getting rid of a lot of the original shows that weren’t performing well. Sadly, Nancy Drew is one of them. The CW’s old ownership likely saw the writing on the wall. Instead of risking things like with Walker and Kung Fu, the network opted to final-season the series to bring fans closure.
Nancy Drew is available to stream on Max. Season 4 streams on The CW App the day after new episodes air.
