Every season, we think we’re getting to the end of The Blacklist and then it’s renewed. What about this year? Will there be a Season 11?
For a while now, we’ve wondered if The Blacklist would end. When the show initially moved to the midseason for Season 6, we thought it was to finish up the story. Then the ratings ticked up and the show was renewed and moved back to the fall.
When Megan Boone left the show at the end of Season 8, we thought that would be the end, but the series was renewed for a ninth season. Was that just to wrap up the story? No, the show was renewed for Season 10.
So, will there be another season? This season certainly feels like it should be the last, doesn’t it?
Is The Blacklist canceled or renewed for Season 11?
The Blacklist Season 11 is not happening. Shortly after being renewed for a 10th season, NBC announced that it would be the final season. This 10th season was to give the writers a chance to wrap everything up. It’s had a good run, but fans do need closure when it comes to Red’s story. We also need some confirmed answers.
The 10th season has been written as the last. That’s why there are so many connections to the past, including bringing up the reminder of Meera from the first season. Her daughter is in the 10th season, giving her daughter a chance to learn more about her CIA mother who died because of her involvement with the Task Force.
There have also been Blacklisters from the past. We got to see a few return after Wujing escaped prison and started gathering together Blacklisters. However, now the focus is on an over-zealous congressman trying to take down the Task Force, and it’s clear he has ulterior motives for this.
The Blacklist airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC. Catch up on Peacock.
