Is The Rookie Season 6 coming to ABC in 2023?

We need answers and we can only get them from The Rookie Season 6 premiere. When will that episode air on ABC? Will it air in 2023?

We usually get to see The Rookie return in the fall. That’s what we need this year. The Season 5 finale left us with a cliffhanger and we need answers.

Aaron Thorsen’s life is on the line. It looked like he pulled through surgery after the attack on him and Juarez. However, he coded at the very end of the episode, and now we need to know if we’re another officer down.

Will The Rookie Season 6 premiere on ABC this year?

So, eyes are on when we’ll get to see the series return. Usually, we’d say that the Nathan Fillion drama would return in September or October at the latest. There is some terrible news as the show is not coming back in 2023.

The series is not coming back until January 2024 at the latest. This isn’t because ABC doesn’t like how the show is performing. It’s all to do with the writers strike. When you look at the fall 2023 schedule, you’ll notice that there are no scripted shows on the fall schedule at all.

Because of the strike, ABC decided to plan for no scripted shows to be able to film in the summer. This would mean a delay to the fall schedule if scripted shows were on it. Instead, we have a strike-proof schedule with unscripted content.

This doesn’t seem like it’s a permanent plan. Instead, it’s only to get through this fall season as the strike has a knock-on effect. ABC is sure to put scripted programming back on in the fall in 2024. For now, we’ll just have to wait for The Rookie Season 6 in January 2024 at the earliest.
