Will Trent got a fairly quick renewal for Season 2. Now we’re just waiting for the new episodes. Will we see Will Trent Season 2 in 2023?
If you’re looking for something new to watch and you missed it on TV, you’ll want to turn to Hulu for Will Trent. The series is based on the books by Karin Slaughter and follows the titular character as he uses his dyslexia (which he hides from others) as a way to help him solve cases.
The series was popular behind The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds on Tuesday nights and quickly scored a second season renewal for a midseason series. Now eyes are on when that second season is going to arrive. Will we see it sometime this year?
When will Will Trent Season 2 premiere on ABC?
When the show was initially renewed, we weren’t sure if ABC would pull it forward to the fall or keep it in the midseason slot. Then the fall schedule came out, and we were surprised. There are no scripted shows on the fall schedule at all.
Will Trent Season 2, like all other scripted shows, are being held for 2024. This is all because of the WGA strike. The writers haven’t returned to their rooms as they strike for fair pay and treatment, and that’s putting all filming on hold. There just aren’t the scripts available to film. There is a chance that the strike will be over this summer, but ABC clearly doesn’t expect that.
While CBS and NBC is planning for a normal fall, ABC opted for a strike-proof fall. The schedule is made up of unscripted programming in the form of reality programs and game shows. We’ll need to wait until January 2024 at the earliest for the scripted shows, including Will Trent‘s return.
