As much as we would love to see the next big case, it’s not happening just yet. When will CSI: Vegas Season 3 premiere on CBS?

Having the Las Vegas Crime Lab back in action has been so much fun. We’re ready to see what’s next, especially if we get to keep Catherine Willows with the team. There is some bad news, though.

The series is nowhere on the list of arrivals on CBS this month. That’s not surprising, though, is it? This is a series that brings in some ratings—delayed as well as live—so CBS isn’t going to want to put it on in the summer months. That’s asking for it to be canceled. Instead, we have to wait until at least the fall.

When will CSI: Vegas Season 3 premiere on CBS?

This is where we get a lot of bad news, though. CBS opted not to put the crime drama on in the fall. On top of that, when it does return, it’s moving nights. The hold until the midseason actually makes some sense when you consider that.

It’s moving to Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT. We know that timeslot is a hard one in the fall. When CBS has afternoon football games, all the scripted shows are preempted. That pushes that 10 p.m. timeslot to 10:30 or later. CBS is then asking people to stay up until 11:30 p.m. or even to midnight to watch the shows. That’s not happening.

So, instead of risking that, there will only be two hours of scripted TV on Sundays in the fall. CSI: Vegas Season 3 is being held to the midseason. We’ll likely see it premiere the week after the Super Bowl airs, so the middle of February. By the fall, we may see TV production back to normal, which will mean no delay needed for CSI: Vegas.
