Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 is not coming to Paramount+ in July 2023
With the success of the revival, it wasn’t surprising to see Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 confirmed. When will the series arrive on Paramount+?
We are certainly more than ready to check out the next case for the BAU to solve. Criminal Minds: Evolution picked up with most of the Season 15 dealing with a much more complex case than they originally thought they had. Multiple cases connected to one UnSub. Take down that UnSub, and they would neutralize some of the killers.
It was hard work, especially as Rossi was dealing with his grief and Penelope was trying not to get pulled into a job she started to really not like. And here we are, after 10 episodes with the team getting back together again.
There is going to be a second season of the revival. The bad news is we won’t get it this summer, but will we get it in 2023?
When will Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2 come to Paramount+?
I wouldn’t expect it this year. While under normal circumstances, a late fall or early winter premiere could have been possible, this year doesn’t have any normal circumstances. The writers are on strike, and there are no scripts to film.
This could open the door to a couple of faces returning for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2. Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Matt Simmons (Daniel Henney) were missing in the first season, and it sounds like Simmons was on his own case and we know Reid left. They were written out as Gubler and Henney were busy with other projects.
With the current shutdown, projects could end up canceled. Could this open a door for Gubler and Henney to return? The Wheel of Time probably won’t get canceled but could suffer a delay somewhere that opens the door for Henney to return. Gubler seems like he’s ready to move on with the series, but maybe a one-episode cameo for Reid to share his knowledge would be possible.
