While we are ready for CSI: Vegas Season 3, CBS is not ready to bring the show to us. When will we get to see the return of the series?

As much as we’re ready for more from the Las Vegas Crime Lab, the Crime Lab isn’t ready for us. Max and her team are taking a bit of a break. It is the summer, after all. The network TV shows always take a break right now.

But we usually only have to wait until the fall. CBS brought some bad news when it came to the return of CSI: Vegas. It is not happening this year.

When will CSI: Vegas Season 3 premiere on CBS?

We’re seeing a lot of disruption to the return of shows this year due to the writers strike. However, the decision to hold CSI: Vegas Season 3 for 2024 isn’t due to the strike. It’s due to it moving to yet another timeslot on the network.

The series will move to Sundays. This is a tricky night at the start of the year. Afternoon football games end up preempting scripted shows from returning regularly. It leads to late nights, and people don’t really want to stay up to watch the episodes. Instead, they wait to watch on Paramount+ the following day.

CBS is countering that by only having two scripted shows on Sunday nights. CSI: Vegas Season 3 will eventually move to the Sunday 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, but it’s not going to be on during the fall season. We’ll likely see it air on Sundays after the Super Bowl when the schedule is a little more consistent.

This could be a good thing for the series. While other shows will likely see their season orders cut due to the writers strike, the original plan for Season 3’s episode count could stay. By the time the strike is over, there should still be time to write and film all the episodes before the potential February 2024 start.
