Chicago PD Season 11 is happening, but it’s not ready for us just yet. When could we expect to see the new season premiere on NBC?

One show we are ready for more of is Chicago PD. We just knew that there wouldn’t be any episodes in July. Even if there wasn’t a writers strike on right now, we wouldn’t expect new episodes to arrive just yet. It’s the summer months.

This is when broadcast networks take a break from the regular programming. The live ratings take a fall, and the broadcast networks put on cheaper shows to counter that issue. That means we have to wait for fall TV to start up again for most of our favorite shows to return.

When will Chicago PD Season 11 premiere on NBC?

So, in some good news, Chicago PD Season 11 is scheduled as part of the fall lineup. Usually, that would mean the end of September as a premiere date but don’t expect that this year. The writers strike is affecting a few things.

Production can’t start yet. There are no scripts to film. Even if there were scripts, it would be hard to start filming. If rewrites were needed, they couldn’t be done by the writers due to the strike. So, production would probably be put on hold anyway.

It’s not clear when the strike will end. Nor is it clear yet if the actors will go on strike next week. If that happens, production will be further delayed. It makes it very hard to say when we could expect the return of the show. ABC opted to hold scripted shows until 2024, and we could find that other broadcast networks need to do the same.

Chicago PD is available to stream on Peacock.
