We would love to see new episodes of our favorite shows already, but that’s not going to be the case. Law & Order Season 23 is not coming in July.
As much as we would love to see new episodes of the Law & Order revival already, that’s not going to be the case. We knew it wasn’t. Even without the writers strike, episodes in July don’t happen.
This is the time of year people spend outside more. They don’t watch TV live, and it means lower ad revenue for the networks. Why would the broadcast networks want to risk their expensive shows this time of year? It doesn’t make sense. So, the shows are held for the fall.
When will Law & Order Season 23 premiere on NBC?
Now for something that is being affected by the writers strike. While Law & Order Season 23 is in the planned fall 2023 schedule for NBC, there’s a chance we won’t get new episodes right away. It doesn’t look like the September premiere dates are possible.
The writers are still on strike. Production simply cannot start up in July for September premieres. Then there’s a chance the actors will go on strike next month, furthering the issue of delays. We could end up seeing a lot of scripted dramas being held for the midseason. This could pull forward some plans, such as Transplant Season 3.
The season was already going to be cut slightly shorter than normal with 18 to 20 episodes. Now it looks like it will be cut even more. It’s not clear what this will do for the actors, who were set to take some episodes off throughout the season for budget reasons.
Stay tuned for the latest updates on Law & Order Season 23. Catch up on the series on Peacock.
