Only Murder in the Building just scored a bevy of Emmy Award nominations! But which cast members were surprisingly left off the list? Find out here!

Season 2 of the Hulu comedy had former TV star Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Broadway producer Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and artist Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) briefly accused of the murder of a neighbor. After being freed, the trio began investigating the killing themselves, soon drawing them into a wildly complex murder plot.

The season had some wild twists and turns with a good guest star cast ranging from Cara Delevingne as Mabel’s love interest to Oscar-winner Shirley McClaine as a quirky relative. It came together for a compelling finale that then did a time jump to a couple of years later to set up Season 3’s new mystery.

The show has earned huge critical acclaim, so it’s no surprise the Emmy Awards have given it a lot of nominations. But amazingly,some big names are missing from the list.

Who was snubbed for an Emmy nom for Only Murders in the Building?

The 75th Emmy Awards nominations granted Only Murders in the Building 12 nominations, down from 17 for its first season. Most of the nominations come in the writing categories as well as production design and cinematography. The big one is once more a nomination for Best Comedy Series.

Short is also up for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while Nathan Lane is once more nominated for Best Male Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. Lane won his first Emmy for his turn in the show’s first season.

However, both Steve Martin and Selena Gomez were left off the nominations list. It’s surprising, given both were nominated for the show’s first season, and their work was just as great this year. This leaves Short as the only main cast member to be competing for a prize.

So while Only Murders in the Building may have a good presence at the Emmys this year, it’s still notable who was snubbed, and I hope they can make up for it in Season 3.
