Our eyes have been on the network plans in fall 2023 due to the strike action. Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 is being held until 2024.
The broadcast networks haven’t had an easy few years with the pandemic. This year is hard for another reason. Strike action is happening across the country, and it’s meant that TV shows can’t film in the summer as usual.
While CBS and NBC hoped to have a somewhat normal fall, ABC planned ahead for a strike-proof one. FOX didn’t even announce its fall schedule, but things have now changed. As we get into the summer, FOX has decided to get ready for a fall without the usual scripted dramas.
When will Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 come to FOX?
All we know right now is that Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 will definitely not premiere on FOX in 2023. We had wondered whether it would make it to the fall schedule anyway as it was a midseason show to start with, but now we have the confirmation.
All the main scripted shows are being held until 2024. It’s a similar look to ABC, although FOX does have its animated lineup on Sundays as normal. The earliest we’ll see Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 premiere is in January 2024.
This isn’t guaranteed, though. It’s going to depend on the strike action. There is a lot in the air right now as the studios aren’t even negotiating in good faith. They’re trying to starve the writers out, but that’s not a good look. If the strike goes on into the fall, we could see a push back to spring for all scripted programming. Will we start seeing shows canceled? That is a worrying thought.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit is available to stream on Hulu.
