CBS will still bring FBI to fall 2023

We couldn’t imagine a fall without FBI, and it looks like CBS can’t either. There will be episodes of the series in fall 2023, but not new ones.

The broadcast networks have had to rework everything. Not only has the writers strike caused delays, but now the actors strike is making things harder. Even shows that had scripts ready have had to go on hold.

FBI couldn’t even start filming its sixth season. There weren’t any scripts ready, and it was clear that we wouldn’t get new episodes in September. It looks like some networks hoped that a later fall would be possible, similar to the pandemic, but that’s not happening either. CBS has recently reworked its fall 2023 schedule.

That doesn’t mean we won’t get episodes with Maggie, OA, and the team, though. There are some episodes of this Dick Wolf series.

CBS has opted for FBI reruns in fall 2023

We will get reruns of the series throughout the fall. It’s not clear if it’s just the flagship series or if we’ll get reruns of International and Most Wanted as well. We would love reruns of all of them in the timeslot chosen.

CBS has done things in a smart way, though. While NBC is kicking off a couple of nights with reruns, CBS has opted to push the reruns to the end of the night. The FBI reruns will air on Tuesdays at 10/9c. This is after new episodes of Big Brother and FBI True.

When can we expect the sixth season to premiere, though? Well, we’re not expecting it at all in 2023 now. We’re looking at all scripted shows to be pushed to January 2024 at the earliest. We’re sure CBS will want to bring this show back as soon as possible, so it’s just a waiting game on the strike action at the moment. With some hope, a fair deal will be reached soon now that the actors have teamed up with the writers.
