CBS will still bring some NCIS in fall 2023
Fall 2023 is going to be without a lot of our favorite shows. It’s not going to be without NCIS, though. We’ll at least get reruns on CBS.
Could you imagine a fall schedule without NCIS? No, we can’t, and it looks like CBS can’t imagine it either. The reworked fall 2023 schedule is out, but it isn’t without the team. While we won’t get any new episodes, we will have some reruns throughout the fall months.
This reworked schedule comes in light of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. When CBS opted for a standard fall schedule in May 2023, we questioned it. The writers strike was set to be a long one, especially with the studios not negotiating at all. It was clear when the actors started striking in mid-July that nothing was going to change any time soon.
Production can’t start up. Anything that was running because scripts were ready was put on hold as the actors went on strike. The networks have had no choice but to pivot completely.
NCIS reruns throughout fall 2023 on CBS
CBS has opted to keep the crime drama on Mondays. We’ll get a run of reruns throughout the fall in the usual timeslot, Mondays at 9/8c. It will fit in between Loteria Loca and a Paramount+ Original series that is still to be confirmed.
What’s not clear is if it’s just the flagship series. It certainly looks like it will be based on the plan, but we could see reruns of Los Angeles, Hawaii, and even New Orleans.
NBC is also opting for reruns of some of its biggest franchises. The network has made it clear that it will be reruns of various episodes from the various shows. That’s something CBS could try, but we all know that the flagship series is the most popular of the lot.
It’s not the only show that CBS has opted to keep in the schedule with reruns. We’ll also get to see reruns of FBI throughout the fall schedule.
NCIS is available to stream on Paramount+.
