What is the true case behind The Heiress and the Heist?
The series follows the story of English heiress Rose Dugdale. She decided to join the IRA in the 1970s, completely abandoning her life of privilege nad respect. She ended up become the mastermind some of the most radical schemes for the IRA throughout 1974 before she was caught.
Throughout the three episodes, you’ll find out who Rose was and was supposed to be and then find out the things she did that led to her time in Limerick Prison. Everything is set with the backdrop of The Troubles, which affected everything in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, and England. There are still remnants of it to this day.
As for Rose, we follow her through the Russborough House heist in 1974. She orchestrated the theft of a number of paintings that were to be used to help secure the release of IRA prisoners at the time. Key witness testimonies are used to help relay the events before and afterward, and a police officer involved in Rose’s arrest also shares his part of the tale.
