Only Murders in the Building Season 3: See a new trailer for the season
Only Murders in the Building is coming back for Season 3 and, at last, a new trailer shows just what our bumbling would-be detective podcasters are going to be up to this year.
Season 2 of the Hulu comedy ended on a wild note as Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) managed to discover who killed building manager Bunny and boost their podcast.
The final scene jumped a year in the future as Charles was now starring in a big Broadway show opposite Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), only for Glenroy to drop dead on stage on opening night. This sets up the new mystery.
What will Only Murders in the Building Season 3 involve?
The season will bounce around the timeline, showing the events leading to the opening night murder, including how Glenroy was not a popular guy, so there are a lot of suspects in his death. The trio takes it upon themselves to figure out who it was.
The big addition is legendary three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, a cast member. Hilariously, Streep is playing someone everyone acknowledges is a horrible actress, giving her a chance to show her fun comedic timing.
The rest of the trailer shows more wild action with bits like Mabel bonding with Jesse Williams as a filmmaker and being seen bursting into a church in a wedding dress. There’s also Ashley Park as Kimber, another actress, and Charles and Oliver trying (and failing) to look smarter and cooler than they really are.
With all this action and comedy, it seems Only Murders in the Building is going to be a bigger and wilder case this year to make for another fun season of crime misadventures.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Aug. 8 on Hulu.
