Will Trent Season 2 is not coming to ABC in August 2023

We are ready for another season of Will Trent, but it’s not ready for us. When will we see Will Trent Season 2 premiere on ABC?

Eyes are on when our favorite TV shows will return. We got the great news earlier this year that Will Trent Season 2 is happening. ABC was happy with the show’s performance on Tuesdays. It did get a good slot behind The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds.

Of course, we didn’t expect to see the show return in August even in a normal year. The summer is a time for reality shows and the scripted shows that don’t cost as much to create or are considered to be risky offerings when it comes to the live ratings. ABC will want to keep a show like Will Trent to the better seasons, whether it’s the fall or winter.

When is Will Trent Season 2 coming to ABC?

So, when will we get to watch the show? Is it going to be in September when the fall schedule starts? This is where we have a lot of bad news.

If ABC wanted to pull the show forward to fall (it debuted in the midseason) that wouldn’t have been possible. This isn’t a normal year. The ABC fall schedule is made up of unscripted shows due to the strike action. Even before we knew how long we’d go into the strike, ABC was ready for it to be a drawn-out one.

So, the earliest we’re getting the second season is in January 2024. The exact premiere date is going to depend on when the actors and writers go back to work, and that should only happen once there is a fair deal. We’ve seen the actors share their residual checks, and they are not being paid their worth.
