The Lincoln Lawyer wrapped up Season 2 with the conclusion of the storyline of lawyer Mickey Haller handling a tough murder case. Did Mickey win the case, or were there other surprises in store?

Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2

The second half of Season 2 had Mickey continuing to defend chef Lisa Trammell (who he had a fling with) for murdering magnate Mitchell Bondurant. It was a tough case as the prosecution, led by Andrea Freeman, had strong evidence against Lisa.

There were some major ups and downs, but in the end, Mickey pulled off a great scheme to convince the jury that construction business owner Alex Grant (who just happened to be a member of an Armenian crime family) killed Bondurant for stopping his attempt to get construction for the 2028 Olympic Games. Adding to it was how health inspector Walter Kim had been aiding Grant and now was missing, which made it appear Kim killed Bondurant, and then Grant hushed him up.

The jury found Lisa not guilty, and she and Mickey celebrated, with Lisa firing Mickey so they could be together.

Was Lisa truly innocent in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2?

It seemed everything was going great for Mickey as his daughter Hayley took a walk in Venice Beach. But as he walked around, it hit Mickey that the noises from music to construction were exactly like the background of the phone call to Lisa’s ex-husband Jeff, who was supposedly out of town.

Looking over some past photos of Lisa and Jeff together, Mickey realized the “Jeff” he’d met was just an unemployed actor Lisa hired. He confronted Lisa at her home, bringing up how strange it was that she refused to sell the place or even put it up for bail money. Looking at her garden, Mickey realized that Lisa had killed Jeff years ago and buried the body there. Lisa begged Mickey to understand but he simply left just as the cops arrived to arrest Lisa.

Mickey tried to rebound as he saw Lorna and Cisco get married with a nice party. Lorna had figured out Lisa was the one who hired the goons to beat up Mickey in order to sway his help but decided not to tell him.

What is Mickey’s new case in The Lincoln Lawyer?

Things seemed to settle down as Mickey’s mom headed to Canada for a new acting job, and Mickey’s mentor David mentioned he was headed for a doctor’s check and seemed to be hiding something.

Mickey was nearly run over by a car and wondered if Grant was coming after him. He then got a call from a man named Julian LaCosse was in jail and wanted to hire him. Julian said he was accused of his best friend’s murder, and a woman named Giselle Dallinger had given him MIckey’s number. Mickey didn’t know Giselle, tracking the name down to a woman in the morgue…who turned out to be sex worker Gloria Dayton, who was last seen heading to Hawaii.

So while he may have won the case, Mickey discovered his girlfriend was a killer and now has to deal with who murdered another woman from his past. Thus, The Lincoln Lawyer had a wild finale that set up an even more dramatic Season 2.
