Law & Order: SVU Season 25 is not coming to NBC in August 2023
The summer months are always long and hard to get through. Law & Order: SVU Season 25 isn’t coming just yet, but when can we expect it?
It’s never easy getting through the summer months. All our favorite crime dramas head on a break, so we need to find other shows to watch on streaming platforms or find the summer shows that catch our attention on broadcast networks.
We knew, even under normal circumstances, that Law & Order: SVU Season 25 wouldn’t premiere in August. It doesn’t make sense for the networks to bring back shows this time of year due to the lower live ratings. There’s also the fact that episodes aren’t ready as filming only starts in July of each year.
This year is very different. Just when can we expect the new season?
When will Law & Order: SVU Season 25 premiere on NBC?
NBC wanted the show to return in the fall. That’s not surprising when you consider it remains one of the strongest shows on the network. Thursday nights are all about the dual crime and legal storylines.
This is where we have some bad news, though. Law & Order: SVU Season 25 isn’t going to arrive in the fall after all. It’s not coming at all in 2023. NBC has had to rework its fall schedule due to the current strike action in Hollywood. The earliest we’re getting the show is in January 2024.
With some hope, this will be possible. Negotiations with the WGA are finally starting up again. This gives the writers a chance to get the fair deal they deserve to be able to get back to work. With that, the actors can get a fair deal so production will be able to start up once the scripts are ready. However, we only want everyone to go back to work if there is a fair deal.
Law & Order: SVU is available to stream on Peacock.
