There was a time we were concerned Blue Bloods Season 14 wasn’t going to happen. Well, it is happening, but we have to wait for it.

At one point, we feared that Blue Bloods would be canceled. It’s one of those shows that is costly to create due to the cast. However, the cast members agreed to take a pay cut to keep the series on the air.

Of course, it’s the summer. We didn’t expect to see new episodes air in August anyway. This is the time of year the live ratings take a dive and the shows are filming ready for the fall. It means we’re only waiting until September or early October for new episodes, right?

When will Blue Bloods Season 14 premiere on CBS?

This is where we have a lot of bad news. Like so many other scripted shows, Blue Bloods is in limbo. At first, there were no scripts to film. Now, the actors are on strike too. No production is taking place for anything that is a SAG-AFTRA series and has WGA writers.

Negotiations should be back underway. Whether they come to a fair deal or not is another thing. There is a lot on the line right now, and it’s up to studios to listen to the writers and actors and finally take them seriously.

All we know at the moment is that Blue Bloods Season 14 will not premiere in 2023 at all. CBS has reworked its fall schedule and the show is pushed to the midseason. However, there will be some reruns in the usual 10 p.m. timeslot on Fridays. We won’t be completely without our Reagan family dinners. We’re used to reruns of the more recent episodes, but it looks like we’re going back to some earlier seasons of the series this fall.

Blue Bloods is available to stream on Paramount+.
