Netflix has a new fictionalized telling of a true story to check out. It’s all about Painkiller, but can you binge-watch the season?

There’s a new series coming our way. It’s another series on a streaming platform, which should mean a binge-watch, right? The problem is not all streamers are the same.

Even shows on individual streamers aren’t always released in the same way. It can be difficult to keep track, so you start searching for how content is going to come out. Do you get the opportunity to watch it all in a weekend, or will you have to space out your content or wait for the finale to binge-watch?

Painkiller is the latest crime drama to watch out for. It’s a series that tells a fictionalized story of the opioid crisis in the United States. Investigators, Big Pharma, and victims are all part of the parcel in this story.

How is Painkiller released on Netflix?

This is a Netflix series, which will tell you a lot. There are a few shows that are released weekly, but the bulk of the content is a binge-watch release. Painkiller is coming out all in one go on Thursday, Aug. 10.

There are six episodes in this limited series. Yes, it is billed as a limited series, and it is designed to tell the full story in all six episodes. Of course, we know that limited series can end up being renewed. Just look at the likes of Big Little Lies and Good Omens. However, it is rare that a limited series is renewed for a second season, especially on Netflix.

Make space this weekend to check out this series. It’s going to be worth the watch, as you likely know someone connected to the opioid crisis, usually as an unwitting victim.
