Nancy Drew

After four seasons, The CW reboot of the classic detective is sadly coming to an end. There’s also the question of whether Nancy and Ace manage to get together and what happens to the other characters.

The Nancy Drew series finale airs on The CW on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 8/7c.

Who Is Erin Carter?

This new Netflix series has the classic hook of a seemingly innocent woman who’s more than she seems. The title character is an American teacher living in Spain who seems to have a perfect life. When she and her daughter are caught in a robbery, one of the crooks seems to recognize her, with Erin breaking out some amazing fighting skills to take him down.

From there, the show explores Erin’s strange past and how various forces are after her. She tries to keep her family safe while dodging cops, mobsters, and other forces in what looks to be a terrific thrill ride for lovers of international crime shows.

Who Is Erin Carter? premieres on Netflix on Thursday, Aug. 24.

The Serial Killer Seduced Me

It’s time to put a focus on Lifetime movies, always a good way to pack in some thrills. First up is this tale of an aspiring artist (Tess Cline) who’s accidentally credited with a portrait of a murdered woman. At first, she enjoys great success and fame until she discovers that the woman in the painting is the latest in a series of murdered models.

Cline realizes the true artist is a serial killer who’s not happy someone is taking credit for his work. Now, she has to figure out who it could be before she ends up becoming the next portrait.

The Serial Killer Seduced Me premieres on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 8/7c on Lifetime and streams on LifetimeTV.

Vanished in Yosemite

The second new Lifetime offering this week is another spin on a classic formula. Two sisters take a vacation in Yosemite National Park. They soon meet up with a handsome man with one sister clearly smitten. When she vanishes, her sibling expects foul play and heads into the forest to track her.

Expect some daunting thrills as she tries to survive this huge park and discover some dark secrets in a battle for survival.

Vanished in Yosemite premieres on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 8/7c on Lifetime.

Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn

The true-crime entry of the week is Apple TV+’s new take on a stunning corporate crime. Charles Ghosn rose to CEO of Renault and Nissan, aiding both companies in car development and becoming huge successes. But behind the scenes, Ghosn’s true gift was falsifying accounting to make himself richer and give the illusion Renault was better than it seemed.

After it came to light, Ghosn was arrested in Japan but managed to escape and currently resides in Lebanon. The new docuseries talks to Ghosn himself to give his side of the story, making this a fascinating look at what made one of the more infamous corporate crooks of modern times tick.

Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn premieres on Friday, Aug. 25, on Apple TV+.
