As fans await word for when FBI: International can return for Season 3, the question is if one past member can return. Will fans see Christiane Paul back as Katrin Jaeger this year?
When FBI: International began, it was made clear that the Fly Team had to have a little help with their cases across Europe. Enter Katrin Jaeger, a German-born agent for Europol. While not a field agent, Jaeger was vital to the team as she smoothed over relations with the various law enforcement agencies of other nations and the tricky politics involved.
Jaeger did hit a major problem when an arrogant supervisor tried to get her fired to cover up one of his own mistakes. Thankfully, the Fly Team called in some political favors to not only get that supervisor fired but Jaeger taking his spot.
The Season 1 finale had Jaeger breaking the bittersweet news she was being promoted to head of Western European operations of Europol. This meant she couldn’t be their liaison with Megan “Smitty” Garretson taking her place. But, could Jaeger make a return in FBI: International Season 3?
Can Jaeger return in Season 3 of FBI: International?
Season 2 proved the door was open for a return as the Fly Team reunited with Jaeger for a mission in Berlin. She helped them bust a spy ring and faced up some demons of her past.
Christiane Paul seems to be taking a bit of a break from acting to live in Germany and is unlikely to make too many appearances. However, it’d make sense for the team to run into her again in Berlin or even her just checking in via a video call to give information on a case.
It seems tougher as Season 3 will have a shorter episode run due to the ongoing strikes across Hollywood. FBI: International will have a lot of plotlines to run through without figuring out a way to work Jaeger in.
However, it would be good to see her again and show Jaeger is still looking out for the Fly Team. If anything can spark up the shortened Season 3, a return by Jaeger would be it.
FBI: International is streaming on Paramount+.
