Nancy Drew finished its series run this week with a wild finale that wrapped up the various storylines and put the characters on new paths. So, just what is in store for the Drew Crew in the future?
Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for the Nancy Drew series finale
The finale had the Drew Crew working overtime to stop the various sins from warping the people of Horseshoe Bay. Nancy, Ace, and Tristan underwent a journey into the afterlife, with Nancy realizing she was partly to blame for all this.
Meanwhile, George somehow had to handle her law school interview during the chaos while Jade aided Nick through the adventure. In the end, thanks to Nancy sacrificing her ability to reincarnate and Ace part of his soul, the sins were burned away, but not after a possessed mob burned down the Historical Society.
So, with that all finished, what is going to happen to each member of the Drew Crew?
Where the Drew Crew went after the Nancy Drew series finale
Nancy
After learning she could no longer reincarnate, Nancy decided that was a price to pay and to live her own life the best she could. She knew a past self had spread a lot of Sin-Eaters and was now ready to travel the world and collect them. She was ready for another great mystery to solve and never gave up, that’s our girl.
Ace
After seeming to leave town, Ace came back saying he had simply attended Alice’s memorial service. He speculated that the sacrifice of his soul had broken Temperance’s curse as he and Nancy finally shared a kiss. While Ace applied for college to be a medical examiner, he was ready to aid Nancy in every way.
Oh, and on top of that, we learned Ace’s last name was Hardy, connecting him to another famous detective clan. At least we saw these two get together.
George
Despite an offbeat interview and the town possessed, George ended up landing the law school position. That meant having to leave town, which had her almost in tears, but it was great to see George finally stepping up to become the lawyer she dreamed of being.
Bess
Obviously, losing the Historical Society was a blow, but Bess still wanted to do the right thing. That meant traveling the world, finding artifacts to rebuild the Society and make it the place she wanted it to be. Having Addy at her side helps her out as the former outsider somehow manages to avoid crying at the idea of leaving Horseshoe Bay.
Nick
A great part of the finale had the gang telling Nick he had given so much for the town he didn’t have to do more, including not running into the burning Historical Society building. So Nick decided to go to work for Tom Swift (nice of the show to remember him after his too-short-lived series), and Jade (who’d stepped up to help) joined him. Looks like Nick finally found a place to belong.
Carson
Briefly, being possessed by the Sin Eater had Carson going wild, stealing items for his new baby. He accepted his nervousness about becoming a dad at his age as Nancy cleared out her old room to be a nursery. The two had a wonderful send-off as Nancy made it clear she knew Carson would be a great dad because he’d already been one for her.
Ryan
When Red was possessed by the sins, she naturally went on a robbery spree. That had Ryan realize that Red wasn’t comfortable staying in Horseshoe Bay, and he agreed with her. It was time for him to go on his own, travel the world, and find his own way, with Red no doubt getting into misadventures. Boy, there’s a spin-off waiting to happen…
Tristan
After the fakeout of realizing he and Nancy weren’t soulmates but bound by her past life cursing his, Tristan faced up to how Ace was Nancy’s true love. With the curse broken, he was finally free to travel outside of Horseshoe Bay, telling Nancy to go with Ace and then leaving town.
So the Drew Crew have bold new lives in front of them, but the last scene showed they’ll always hold the Crab and all their memories close by to remember their wild times solving mysteries.
