What’s next for Hailey Upton in Chicago PD Season 11?
It’s a long wait for fans of Chicago PD for some new episodes in Chicago PD Season 11. That means wondering what’s new for some characters, including Hailey Upton. What is Tracy Spiridakos’s cop going to get up to in this new season?
It’s no secret that Season 10 put Upton through the wringer. It started off okay as she and her husband, Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), were still doing well. But in Episode 3, Halstead killed a suspect in a fight. While Hailey and Voight were ready to help cover it up, Jay decided instead to quit the Chicago PD and rejoin the Army, leaving Hailey devastated.
His loss clearly shook up Upton, leaving her distracted throughout the season. That added to Upton realizing the son of a noted police chief was involved in a female trafficking ring and a killer to boot, risking her own career to go after him. Not only did she fail to hear from Jay for months, but she had to learn second-hand he had extended his tour of duty.
To top it all off, Upton was kidnapped by some drug dealers and barely managed to escape. It did make her realize she couldn’t keep invested in a marriage when Halstead wasn’t, and it was time to let go.
That leads to questions on what’s next for Upton when Chicago PD returns for Season 11.
What can happen to Upton in Chicago PD Season 11?
Due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, Chicago PD Season 11 is being delayed, and the writers and actors can’t talk of any plans for it. While Upton wasn’t put in danger in the Season 10 finale, she does face challenges for Season 11. Among them is whether she’s going to file for divorce from Jay or hope perhaps he can eventually return and they can work this out.
That’s unsure, given Jesse Lee Soffer hasn’t given any indication he’s returning to Chicago PD. Besides that, Upton may try to stay out of the dating game, thinking she’s better off solo for a bit. At least it looks like she’ll avoid drinking or something else that could lead to self-destructive behavior and risk her job.
So fans are unsure just what’s in store for Upton in Season 11, but hopefully, it’s a lot better than the mess Season 10 made of her life.
