What’s next for Adam Ruzek in Chicago PD Season 11?
Chicago PD fans are eager to see what Season 11 brings for its characters. None is more concerning than Adam Ruzek, who ended Season 10 in dire straits. What could be next for our beloved cop?

Season 10 of Chicago PD had Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) pushed to some extremes. The second episode had him hunting an escaped prisoner and risking his own life to take the guy down. Meanwhile, he and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) continued to work out their complex relationship, living together but not quite ready to try and take the next step in engagement.
A long-running plotline had Adam going undercover in a criminal group to take down a dangerous supremacist. He bonded with the man’s daughter and grandson, but when he revealed he was a cop, the boy shot him and left him for dead.
Thankfully, the team was able to rescue Adam and get him to the hospital. The episode ended with Burgess at Adam’s bedside, with the doctors still unsure of his recovery from his wounds.
With a cliffhanger like that, Season 11 has a lot to answer on Adam’s status.
What will happen to Adam in Chicago PDSeason 11?
Sadly, Season 11 is being delayed thanks to the various strikes hitting Hollywood and won’t come until 2024. The show may do a time jump to show Adam recovered physically but likely still carrying the psychological wounds of the near-death experience. The question is if he overreacts and becomes more violent in cases or gun-shy.
It will also look at his relationship with Burgess, who knows just what Adam is going through, given her own brush with death in Season 8. The pair are still raising foster daughter Mikayla and a question if Adam decides he doesn’t want to waste this second chance and finally take a big step with his longtime on-off lover.
As fans await word on when Chicago PD Season 11 can arrive, the questions regarding Ruzek and his future will likely be a big focus for the new year.
