Eyes are on the return of our favorite TV shows. It’s the fall, and that means NCIS Season 21, right? There’s some bad news coming your way.

September is so close. That usually means a lot of our favorite shows return. We tend to get a lot of premiere dates at the end of September each year, and this year is sure to be the same. The bad news is that NCIS won’t be one of them.

That’s right; NCIS Season 21 will not premiere in September. We’ll only need to wait an extra month, right? What is going on with the CBS schedule?

When will NCIS Season 21 premiere on CBS?

While there are some premiere dates this month, it’s mostly reality shows and acquisitions from streamers. There are no standard scripted shows coming back this fall.

This has nothing to do with CBS attempting to shake up the fall schedule. In fact, during the May Upfronts, CBS made it clear that it wanted a normal fall. NCIS was on the schedule for Mondays at the usual time, followed by NCIS: Hawaii.

This was at the beginning of the writers strike. There was hope that the writers would get back to work soon to allow for a normal fall. That didn’t happen, and now the actors are also on strike. No production can happen for any SAG-AFTRA show, which includes our favorite crime drama. So, we have to wait.

CBS pushed the return of shows back to 2024. While January is possible right now, it’s getting tight for a turnaround. We may see the networks have to hold off a little longer, and this is going to severely impact the length of the shows.

The good news is we’ll still get some NCIS. There will be reruns on Mondays.
