As NCIS fans await word on when Season 21 finally arrives, there are questions abounding on what to expect from some characters. That includes Jessica Knight, as the agent went through some changes in Season 20. So what can be next for Katrina Law’s tough gal?
Season 20 of NCIS put a lot more focus on Knight, from her going viral after saving a mother and daughter to a Thanksgiving meal, spotlighting her tense relationship with her sister Robin. There was also Jessica rocked to hear her father was in a Japanese hospital, distracting her during a case. On top of that, an early episode had Knight forced to work with an ex-boyfriend on a case.
The biggest news was that Season 20 confirmed that Jessica and Jimmy Palmer were now in a committed relationship. It was fun seeing them banter and try to navigate their lives together. They finally admitted they loved each other as they’ve done a good job balancing their work with the romance and the others support them.
So, with so many big developments going on with her life in the past year, what can Season 21 involve for Knight?
What can become of Knight in NCIS Season 21?
Like all network shows, production of NCIS is in limbo thanks to the various strikes occurring across Hollywood. Thus, fans have to wait until 2024 to see the team back in action.
So far, there’s no word on any developments for Jessica and Jimmy, but it’s likely they’re still figuring out their romance. That includes Jessica trying to bond with Jimmy’s daughter Victoria, which is tricky as (by her own admission) Knight isn’t that good with kids. She did make a faux pas in Season 20 when she accidentally picked a favorite movie of Jimmy’s late wife and Victoria’s mom to watch, but the two seem to get along.
On the job, it’s likely Knight will continue to be her usual butt-kicking self in the field, and we may see a return of her sister or finally meet her dad. Again, it depends on how soon the series can continue, but Season 21 should continue to make Jessica Knight an NCIS favorite.
NCIS is now streaming on Paramount+.
