It’s September, and that should mean the return of fall TV. There is a lot different this year, and that includes no NCIS: Hawaii Season 3.

Nothing is the same this year. While it is September, we’re not getting the usual fall schedule. As you look at the shows arriving on CBS this year, you’ll see that NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 is not on the list.

This will come as a shock to those who were relying on the schedule released in May during the CBS May Upfronts presentation. However, it won’t come as a shock to others following the news surrounding Hollywood and film production.

When will NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 premiere on CBS?

The WGA went on strike in May 2023. CBS originally hoped for the strike to come to an end rather quickly, making it clear that it wanted a regular fall. NBC was the same, while FOX didn’t bother announcing a schedule and ABC set a strike-proof schedule.

Then the actors joined the strike in July. All SAG-AFTRA productions went on hold. Even if there were scripts ready for NCIS: Hawaii Season 3, filming would have come to an end. There weren’t any scripts, though. This was when CBS changed its fall plans.

The earliest we’ll see NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 is in January 2024, but it’s looking unlikely that January will be possible at this point. We may need to wait until the spring, and we will see a much shorter season than we’re used to.

As of right now, there’s no reason to believe that CBS will revoke the renewal of the show. However, it all depends on how long the strike action lasts. If it gets to a point where this season can’t go ahead at all, will CBS decide to hold everything for the 2024–2025 schedule? That remains to be seen.

NCIS: Hawaii is available to stream on Paramount+.
