We are ready to jump back into the world Dick Wolf has created, but that’s not happening yet. When will Law & Order Season 23 premiere on NBC?

NBC did plan to bring us a normal fall. That was the hope back in May at the Upfronts just as the writers went on strike. There was a hope that a deal could be reached quickly and that things would get back to normal.

That’s not been the case. As you’ll see on the list of shows coming back in September, Law & Order isn’t one of them. Of course, there are times that some shows are pushed to October. We just have to look at Magnum PI and Quantum Leap this season. Is that the case for Law & Order Season 23?

When will Law & Order Season 23 premiere on NBC?

Remember when we said there was hope that a deal would be reached quickly? That didn’t happen. Instead, the actors went on strike in July, and now all production has been halted. It meant that NBC was forced to change plans.

There will be some Law & Order reruns to start Thursday nights, but there won’t be any new episodes. It’s also not clear which of the three Law & Order shows will take up that first slot of the night. There are a lot of episodes to choose from.

Law & Order Season 23 is not going to arrive until January 2024 at the earliest. This all depends now on when production can get started again. The sooner the better for the shows to return, but we only want it to happen when a fair deal is reached. The longer production is on hold for, the closer we’re getting to a full TV season without any of our favorite scripted shows.

Law & Order is available on Peacock.
