There are a lot of great shows to watch when it comes to the crime drama genre. Perry Mason is one of them, but will there be more to the story?

Fall TV may be just around the corner, but it’s not the fall that we’re used to. That means looking at streaming platforms to find shows to watch. Something that is more than worth checking out is the Perry Mason reboot starring Matthew Rhys.

The series is more of an origin story, a prequel of the original series that you’ll remember. It’s a look at how Perry became the defense lawyer that he was. We also have some important looks at the time period, such as living through the Great Depression.

You’ll certainly want to see more when you get through the two seasons available. Will there be a third season?

Perry Mason Season 3 is not happening

There is some bad news for fans of the series. It was canceled after two seasons.

To be honest, the series was originally billed as a limited series. Of course, we’ve seen plenty of limited series end up extended, and that’s what happened here. So, the second season was more of a bonus season. We would have loved a third season, though.

The linear ratings on the HBO channel weren’t great. There may have been more watching on Max, but we don’t get to see those figures. Although, I’ll be honest and say that the promotion for Perry Mason from HBO was poor and that may have led to a lot of people not even realizing the second season was out.

It’s possibly a good thing the series was canceled, though. We’re starting to see long delays due to the strike action in Hollywood, and some shows that were renewed are having the new seasons revoked. We wouldn’t have wanted that to happen to Perry Mason.

Perry Mason is available to stream on Max.
