NCIS Season 21: Will Emily Wickersham return as Eleanor Bishop?
There have been many changes to the NCIS cast over the years, including the exit of Eleanor Bishop. Will Emily Wickersham return in NCIS Season 21?
We have said goodbye to many characters on NCIS over the years. Some of them have been for creative reasons, but others have been due to the actors wanting to leave. The latter was the case for Emily Wickersham.
The writers decided to find a creative way that didn’t involve a permanent exit. We had hints that Bishop’s exit was coming for some time, but we didn’t all pay attention to them. It was arguably a great way to write out the character, but we’d love to see her return. Is there a chance of that happening in the new season?
The wait for NCIS Season 21 is a long one. The production work hasn’t even started on the series yet due to the various strike actions happening in Hollywood. However, it doesn’t stop us from looking at chances of the character returning.
Could Eleanor Bishop return in NCIS Season 21?
It’s unlikely that Emily Wickersham will return to the series. She was ready to move on from the series, but it’s clear that she hasn’t permanently closed the door. If she had, she may have requested to be killed off from the show.
Bishop’s exit was done in a way that would allow her to come back. She orchestrated her firing from NCIS so that she could work undercover with Odette, Ziva’s former handler. This happened without her telling anyone, including Torres, who had a will-they-won’t-they relationship with Bishop.
With Torres’s current situation, it is possible that we could see Bishop return. We last saw Torres threatening to kill a man. It’s clear the two have history, but will Torres really go through with it? Is it possible that Bishop will step in at the last minute to prevent Torres from doing something that he can’t take back? Will she find a way to help Torres get revenge?
NCIS is available to stream on Paramount+.
