FBI Season 5 brought huge changes for Nina Chase! What can FBI Season 6 have in store for Shantel VanSanten’s tough agent and her new life?

When FBI Season 5 began, Nina Chase was part of the main team, taking the spot for Maggie Bell while Maggie recovered from a sarin gas attack. Nina handled herself well even though she was shaken on a case when she failed to protect a woman on a robbery spree.

Nina was aided by her relationship with agent Stuart Scola (John Boyd), with the pair getting closer. That led to a huge turn when Nina revealed she was pregnant with Scola’s child. She thus transferred to the white-collar crimes division, which was much safer for her.

Nina had planned to move out of New York and wanted Scola to sign away his parental rights. Scola refused, insisting he had to be part of his child’s life. Things got worse when Nina was shot in the FBI crossover event and Scola was frantic over her condition.

The Season 5 finale had Nina going into labor, but serious complications with the doctors warning Scola both she and the child could die. It was touch and go, but in the end, Nina gave birth to a son who Scola named after his late brother.

So, will Season 6 feature more of Nina in motherhood?

What can happen to Nina in FBI Season 6?

There’s no word on when FBI Season 6 can arrive due to the ongoing strikes across Hollywood. It should be remembered that Shantel VanSanten was never a full cast member but recurring as a fill-in for Maggie. That makes it harder to tell if she can be back for Season 6.

If nothing else, Scola will be talking of Nina, who’s likely taking a break from the FBI to raise the child. She might still be handling the medical effects of almost dying and it’s up in the air if she knows Scola told the doctors to save her and not the baby if they had to.

It would be nice to at least see Nina in a cameo in the new season, but after all she went through in Season 5, it makes sense she’ll take a break from the action in Season 6, as motherhood is a bigger challenge than anything the FBI could provide.
