The end of SWAT Season 5 brought us a major change with the exit of Lina Esco as Chris. Will we see Chris return in SWAT Season 7?

While a lot of dramas see a lot of cast changes in a short space of time—yes, FBI: Most WantedI’m looking at you—others don’t. SWAT has been blessed with keeping the majority of its OG cast.

However, Season 5 saw a major exit. Lina Esco decided it was time to move on from the series, and that meant the exit of Chris. The exit came with the bittersweet news that Stris would finally happen.

As we enter the final season of the series, all eyes are on whether some former characters could return. Could we see Chris back in SWAT Season 7?

Will Lina Esco return in SWAT Season 7?

It’s worth noting that we have no idea about anything in the series just yet. The show was canceled but then renewed for a 13-episode final season. We don’t see that episode count being reduced due to the current strike action, as this is a show that could run into the summer without fears of what happens to the linear ratings with it being final-seasoned.

The final season is usually when some OG characters return, even just for an episode or two. That could mean we see Esco back, even if it is right at the end of the series.

One thing we know is that Chris and Street are still together. Chris is still in LA, running a women’s shelter to protect them from the bad people in the world. She could need the team’s help with a situation, giving us a chance to actually see where Chris is and the woman she has become after leaving the force.

SWAT is available to stream on Netflix and Paramount+.
